In memory of our founding light, the School celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr. (Mrs.) Deepa Martins on April 5, 2022. Dr. Martins was the founder secretary of the St. Stephen’s School Society and its founding light from its conception. The lecture series from the past nineteen years has helped us immortalise her memory and thoughts in the way she would most relate to.
This year, we were honoured to have Dr. Varsha Das, a highly acclaimed Gandhian scholar, prolific writer, art critic, translator and litterateur, as the keynote speaker and Ms. Aruna Roy, one of India’s most prominent and thought-provoking social activists as the Guest of Honor. It was the first hybrid lecture where not only we witnessed the event face to face but also the people associated with the St. Stephen’s Family were able to join us virtually.
