GANDHI AND SHASTRI JAYANTI CELEBRATION
On October 2, 2024, our school celebrated the birth anniversaries of two of India's greatest iconic leaders—Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri—with great enthusiasm and reverence. On this occasion, the students of Grades VI to VIII attended a special assembly to imbibe and follow the glorious trails of the two noble souls towards a peaceful and prosperous world. The celebration commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Director and the Principal. The students shed light on Gandhiji and Shastriji’s lives and their invaluable contributions to India’s freedom struggle and their ideals of truth and non-violence through a speech. The teachers also delivered a thought-provoking and insightful talk on the ideologies of Gandhiji’s principles and their relevance in today’s world. A devotional ambience prevailed as the school choir sang some of the favourite bhajans of Gandhiji. As part of the celebration, the staff and the students took a solemn pledge on cleanliness, one of the core tenets of Gandhiji’s philosophy. The pledge focused on promoting awareness about the importance of cleanliness in our personal lives and public spaces, in line with Gandhiji’s vision of a clean and self-sufficient India.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt speech delivered by the Principal emphasizing the values of non-violence, truth, and simplicity as taught by Mahatma Gandhi, and the leadership and humility exemplified by Lal Bahadur Shastri. He encouraged students to imbibe these values in their daily lives.
The students of Grades Nursery to III recited patriotic poems on Gandhiji and Shastriji.
Through these poems, the students beautifully expressed their admiration for Gandhi's principles of non-violence and Shastri’s vision for a strong and united India.
The celebration was a meaningful and enriching experience for everyone, leaving the students inspired to walk on the path demonstrated by Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
