The Management and Staff celebrated the ‘Founder’s Day’ commemorating the 75th birth anniversary of the Founder Principal & Director Shri Gilroy Martins on February 20, 2025, with great enthusiasm and reverence. The celebration honoured the vision and legacy of our esteemed Founder. The day was filled with engaging activities that involved students, teachers, and staff, all coming together to recognize the values and principles upon which our institution was built.
The highlight of the day was the active participation of our students in various activities designed to foster an understanding of the founder's vision. The students of Grades I to VIII actively participated in the celebration and created personalized birthday cards and showcased the founder’s vision and wrote the values imbibed from the founder and displayed them on board.
A dedicated group activity was organized for the teachers to delve deeper into the life and times of the founder. The teaching fraternity participated in a collaborative session and shared 75 values that were integral to the founder's vision as a takeaway from his life. This activity served as a reminder of the core principles that guide our institution and helped teachers connect with the founder's vision on a deeper level. They shared the values and sang songs and hymns showing their love and dedication to the Founder making the day lively and meaningful. The lyrics of the songs like ‘Candle in the Wind’ and ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ dedicated to the Founder served as a heartfelt tribute and made the ambience sombre and nostalgic.
The Secretary of St. Stephen’s School Society, Ms. Shefali Martins read an extract from her book ‘My Sir’- a testament to a life guided by values that has shaped everyone who walks its halls. The Director, the Principal and the Vice-Principal emphasized the values that Sir Martins stood for, and shared their personal memories and experiences with him. The celebration was concluded with a gratitude song, ‘Sukhriya, Sukhriya’ sung by the staff members, that filled the room with warmth and sublimity. The lyrics touched everyone’s hearts, and the harmony in which the song was performed reflected the deep sense of respect and gratitude felt by all. The song spoke about the foundation laid by the founder, the sacrifices made, and the enduring impact of his legacy through a presentation. The event ended on a cheerful note with a heartfelt birthday song for the Founder.
