GANDHI AND SHASTRI JAYANTI CELEBRATION

On October 1, 2025, we commemorated the birth anniversaries of two of India’s most revered leaders — Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri honouring their enduring legacy and values. Students from Grades IV to VIII gathered for a special assembly aimed at reflecting on the values and legacy of these noble souls, and to encourage the pursuit of a peaceful and prosperous world.

The assembly featured inspiring speeches highlighting the lives, struggles, and monumental contributions of Gandhiji and Shastriji to India’s freedom movement. A thought-provoking short play was staged, portraying the principles they stood for — non-violence, truth, simplicity, and patriotism. The school choir sang some of Gandhiji’s favourite bhajans, creating a serene and reflective atmosphere. To further engage the students, a short quiz was conducted to enhance their understanding and assess their knowledge of the leaders’ lives, values, and lasting legacy. As part of the celebration, both staff and students took a solemn cleanliness pledge, reaffirming their commitment to Gandhiji’s vision of a clean and self-reliant India. The event concluded with a heartfelt address by the Principal, encouraging students to live by the principles of integrity, humility, and peaceful coexistence exemplified by both leaders.

In an extension of the day’s message, the Office-bearers of Grade VIII and Class Monitors from Grades VI to IX participated in a cleanliness drive in a nearby area, spreading awareness and contributing to a cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful community.

Meanwhile, the young learners from Grades Nursery to III paid tribute to the leaders in their own special way by participating in a Hindi Choral Elocution reciting poems inspired by the values of Gandhiji and Shastriji in their classrooms, filling the atmosphere with youthful enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
